Children's Liturgy
About Children’s Liturgy
Children’s Liturgy Ministry was formed in November 2003 to help the children in
our parish understand the Liturgy of the Word. This will enable them to appreciate
Mass and participate more actively in it.
As the Liturgy of the Word during Mass is celebrated and pitched beyond the comprehension
level of the children aged 4 to 9, the ministry simplifies the penitential rites,
the creed, the gospel and the homily for them. By doing so, they will come to understand
the theme and the message from the Gospel reading for that particular Sunday. Role-play,
group activities and songs are used to reinforce the message of the Gospel to the
children.
At the end of the session, the children will be led back into the church to join
the main assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Children’s Liturgy takes place
Every last Sunday, during the 9.15am and 11am Masses.
Meetings to plan for the sessions
Held every Sunday (except the last Sunday of the month) at 11am in St Paul’s room.
